Who's In Control?

Have you ever felt out of control? Like you were losing a grip on the world around you? Most people feel this way at one point in their lifetime. It can feel chaotic. What about persecution? Have you ever felt as if you were being put down for who you are?
These can be intense feelings. Many of them go unnoticed by the outside world. But if we take something from Paul’s letter to the Philippians, what if we lived as if God were in control? Paul spent most of his ministry in prison… Persecuted for his belief in Jesus Christ… And yet he found the joy of spreading the Gospel from wherever he was. That was the call God had put on his heart and Paul understood how to use it.
Whether you feel out of control or persecuted today, God has a handle on things. Whether you are at odds with a friend or fellow believer… God has called you to a different life… The life Paul had found and realized… Within his letter to the Ephesian church, Paul wrote:
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all (Ephesians 4:1-6).
As believers, we are called to live a life where God is in control… To share the joy of Gospel whatever our situation… To find unity of the Spirit in the community of believers…
Let’s give the control to God today and let’s see what he can do as we live into the life we have been called to live.
