I Need You

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken (Psalm 62:1-2).
There are days when everything seems to fall into place. The days we feel God's presence in the wind, guiding us. But then there are the days when you can’t even get out of bed… Struggling to get on with the day. The days where you need more. David understood that need as he wrote this Psalm hiding from his own son who wanted his life. In the midst of his        weariness, he reaffirmed his trust in God.
In 2022, Elevation Worship wrote the song Same God and spoke to the great need we feel at times in our lives. The chorus reads, O God, my God, I need You. O God, my God, I need You now. How I need You now. O Rock, O Rock of ages, I'm standing on Your faithfulness.
We all need the great healer in our lives. Things we have carried for too long and, like David, we are tired and weary. But if there is one thing we know is that He is the same God. The song goes on to say, You were a healer then. You are a healer now. You are the same God. You touched the lepers then. I feel Your touch right now. You are the same God.
We serve the same God as the God of David. The same God that David writes his Psalm about by saying, Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.   Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My     salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge (Psalm 62:5-8).
Are you in need today? Finding it harder to make through because you are tired and weary. In those times remember that God is the same As [He’s] always been, [He] will always be. [He will] never change. [He]'ll always be faithful.
He will always be faithful. Find rest in him today. For all of us I'm calling on the Holy Spirit. Almighty River, come and fill [us] again. Holy Spirit Come.
