Weary Traveler

Weary traveler. Beat down from the storms that you have weathered. Feels like this road just might go on forever.  Carry on (Jordan St. Cyr).
Many of us carry a heavy load. Workload… emotional  pressure… hurts from the past. Feels like it can carry on forever… No light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t know that there is a person alive who can say they have not     experienced this feeling throughout their life. The people of Israel felt a similar darkness being exiled for hundreds of years… away from their homeland… Within chapter 40, we read Isaiah’s words:
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall (Isaiah 40:28-30).
The people of Israel understood weariness. They understood pain and weakness. Much like we experience today. The days where the darkness seems to be darker. The rain is just a little colder… But no matter how long the darkness has been    closing in.. there is hope today… There was hope for Israel. Through the darkness they experienced, the prophet Isaiah has hope for the people.
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint  (Isaiah 40:31).
The Lord will renew the strength of those who find hope in him… The truth is weary traveler, restless soul. You were never meant to walk this road alone. It'll all be worth it so just hold on. Weary traveler, you won't be weary long (Jordan St. Cyr).
We were not meant to face the darkness alone, weary travelers… Heaven's healing's gonna find where all the hurt is. When Jesus calls, we'll lay down all our heavy burden. Seek renewed strength today.
