He Hears You
What is the value of being heard? It’s what we want in the end isn’t it? And when we don’t feel heard, we begin to become upset or even angry. Being heard is one the most basic human desires…
However, we have come to a time in history where we listen less and less… Speak more and more… And often refuse to hear… Many feel pushed aside and unheard in our culture today.
But there is good news today to the weary and unheard. God still hears your voice. His ears hear you. The psalmist of psalm 116 understood this principle that is available for us today. They write:
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me!” The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you (Psalm 116:1-7).
We can return to rest today because the Lord has heard us and has been good to us. The situation may continue for a time, but God has heard you. Elevation Worship just released a new album and on it is a song called Trust in God and the lyrics read:
Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine. He's been my fourth man in the fire time after time. Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood and what He did for me on Calvary is more than enough. I trust in God, my Savior. The one who will never fail. He will never fail. He didn't fail you then. He won't fail you now (Trust in God).
We can be assured today that God has heard our prayers. Jesus has been our fourth man again and again and will continue to be… He hasn’t failed and never will. The reason we can put our trust in him is because I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered. That's why I trust Him, that's why I trust Him (Trust in God).
