Though the Journey Seems Long

By Eddie Keith
There has been a song on my heart these last few weeks as we have worked through our series The God of Promise. Maverick City Music released the song Promises and truly speaks to the heart of this series. It reads, “though the storms may come and the winds may blow, I'll remain steadfast. And let my heart learn, when You speak a word, it will come to pass. Great is Your faithfulness to me.
There are times the dry lands seem endless… times when the storms seem to press in… and there are times that seem too difficult to make it through… The reality for us all is that when we try to do it alone, that can be very true. However, we have something stronger to stand on today rather than the shifting sands of the troubles of this world. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand”. Isaiah 41:10 NLT
Throughout Scripture, the promise of God is to be with his people. He will hold us in times of heartache. He will strengthen us in times of trouble. And he will be our encouragement when we so desperately need it. But the promise doesn’t end there…
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” . John 14:27 NIV
The peace of God, through his Son, Jesus Christ, has been left with us to ease our hearts and minds.
Friends, wherever you find yourself today… God is with you. He promises to be there with you through the storm. And even though the journey may be long, “be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” Matt. 28:20 NLT
