Job Description - Worship Leader
The Worship Leader for Olivet Church is a key member of the staff who would lead in the planning and execution of the weekly Sunday service at 9:30 am. The Worship Leader is also responsible for developing a team of volunteers that will consist of the praise team and for providing creativity into the forward movement of our worship flow and direction. The position is a 5 to 10 hour per week salaried position reporting directly to the Pastor.

Qualifications:
- The Worship Leader has a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and the ability to lead others to a loving relationship with Christ,
- Has experience leading a band (church related is preferable).
- Has understanding and passion for current worship music and trends
- Ability to sing and play guitar is preferred but not required.
- Working understanding of Propresenter, Church Media, Live Stream
Salary: $4,000
The Worship Leader responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, organize, implement, and maintain a current repertoire of songs for worship services.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in designing and leading worship on Sunday mornings and other scheduled worship services.
- Prepare/Rehearse with the praise band on a regular basis to ensure that everyone is prepared for scheduled services.
- Arrange appropriate music/musicians for evening services and special events
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the flow of a worship service and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- Recruit, equip, motivate, supervise, and encourage other music leaders.
- Communicate with band over schedule changes, special events, and new music to be rehearsed.
General Considerations and Expectations:
- The Worship Leader will keep current in the field of church music through professional magazines, attending workshops and conferences, and networking with other music ministers
- The Worship Leader will report directly to the Pastor in all ministry areas and coordinate time off in regard to music and worship leadership needs.
- Work with the Pastor to plan each element of the worship services. Elements to include song selection and order of service
- Lead the Worship Service through song
- Prepare Praise Team for leading Worship Songs
- Attend meetings as designated by the Pastor
- Work with Media Coordinator to prepare all technology for worship at each worship space
- Oversee the maintenance of instruments and computers for worship. Oversee purchasing of musical instruments and sound equipment
- Serve at funerals, weddings and special services as directed by the Pastor
- Provide all service information to the office by Thursday morning for Propresenter
- Nurture and shepherd those serving in the music ministry
